- Chad Lewis, Author of Hidden
Headlines
Chad
Lewis is an author and paranormal investigator based in Minneapolis, MN, who
together with Terry Fisk hosts the Web site UnexplainedResearch.com. The pair
also host the hugely successful Unexplained Conferences at sites around the
Midwest. Lewis, who holds a Master's Degree in psychology and has traveled
to Belize, Guatemala, Loch Ness, London, Romania and other places in search
of vampires, chupacabras and other unknown entities, has now taken on a new
kind of search. Spending hours poring over the archives of old newspapers,
Lewis has found a treasure trove of the bizarre and gathered them into a series
he calls "Hidden Headlines." Published so far are actual tales of wildmen,
unusual characters, and unexplained phenomena from Wisconsin, Texas, New York
and California. UncannyRadio will plumb the depths of Lewis' knowledge as
we examine the what, how and why of Hidden Headlines.
May 28 -Edward Readicker-Henderson-
Guest
Edward Readicker-Henderson is a frequent contributor to National Geographic
Traveler, Sierra, and Art & Antiques; other publication credits include AARP:
The Magazine, Budget Travel, and -- despite his polar fleece aesthetic --
Modern Bride. He believes in ghosts, bigfoot, and even elves, but not the
Loch Ness monster. Listen to the show and find out why. In 2007 Best American
Travel Writing honored Edward for "The Quietest Place on Earth," as well as
"Uses for Dirty Underwear." In 2003, the book noted "Why You're Here Now,"
and the next year, he won a Lowell Thomas Award for "Under the Protection
of the Cow Demon." He's also recipient of a Northern Lights Award, for the
best magazine travel story on Canada, in 2007. U.S. Poet Laureate Rita Dove
remarked that his reflective style was "like watching a particularly elegant
sleight-of-hand." The compliment was especially apt, since Edward can also
juggle five balls and eat fire. A book collecting his work, Under the Protection
of the Cow Demon is available from Walkabout Publishing and Amazon.com.
